This original hand-coloured litho by Gamy depicts the 1913 French Grand Prix at Amiens. This was one of the first European Grand Prix and was organised by the MCF. The image is of Georges Boillot in his Peugeot (No.8) closely followed by the teams other car driven by Jules Goux (No14) - Although they finished 1 & 2 it is unlikely that they were ever this close in the race as Boillot finished some 3 minutes ahead of Goux. An important visual piece of motor racing history - this example has been through the 'Mabileau restoration process' and has been newly framed in a blue frame, the acid free mount has a French tri-colour cut into it to reflect the importance of one of the first recognised French GP. The colour was very good on this piece, but we have added UV protective glass to ensure that it stays 'fresh' for many years.
