1910 Daily Mail London-Manchester air race

Although rather plain, this is a significant litho for any collector of work by either Ernest Montaut or Gamy, in that it bears credit to both! It is another aviation series work, depicting the London to Manchester air race of 1910. The reason that this work is important is that it is the only widely known collaboration between Mr & Mrs Montaut and one suspects that Ernest was already starting to feel illness that would lead to his untimely death - It is from around this time that works by Gamy (Marguritte Montaut) were starting to be seen and it would seem that she was starting to take an active interest in the business of producing Lithographs that she would later become to rely on as a widow.  This litho has signs of fade and ideally needs a restoration process, however it is currently offered in 'as found' condition. It can currently be purchased in this condition or we can quote for a full reframe & restoration should the new owner desire.
